On April 30, 2018, Memorial Hermann Hospital System of Houston, Texas initiated an action against CMS alleging that CMS, acting through the Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC), incorrectly calculated a Medicare overpayment contrary to an agreement reached between the Hospital and the MAC. The hospital alleges that the MAC charged interest expense prior to issuance of a revised notice of program reimbursement (NPR) in contravention of the agreement between the parties.
